5 Life Lessons And What It Taught Me...

"There are no mistakes in life, only lessons. There is no such thing as negative experience, only opportunities to grow, learn and advance along the road of self mastery. Even pain can be a wonderful teacher".

There are many life lessons that we can learn from in our lives and from every lesson, we can take away an important message. Below are a few of them to enjoy and learn from them:

1. YOU CAN'T PLEASE EVERYONE!

"I don't know the secret of success, but the secret of failure is trying to please everyone".

Its true, people pleasers always crave for outside validation, their confidence and personal feeling of security is based on getting validation/approval of others.

It is not important for everyone to agree with you or like you all the time; people have different perspective/ideas which may or may not match with yours. Its human nature to want to be liked, valued and respected but not at the expense of your own happiness -  Stay true to your values!

2. INTEGRITY IS MORE VALUABLE THAN MONEY

Warren Buffet (CEO of Berkshire Hathway) said it so beautifully; "In looking for people to hire, look for three qualities: Integrity, Intelligence and Energy. And if they don't have the first one, the other two will kill you".

It is quintessential to surround yourself with people of integrity; If we are with people who are deceptive and misleading, we will surely find ourselves in enduring their behavior - first accepting and gradually adopting their roles. Even a little acts of dishonesty can't be dismissed.

If a person cannot be trusted in simplest matter of honesty, how can they possibly be trusted for making major and important decisions of life?

3. HEALTH IS THE MOST VALUABLE POSSESSIONS

"If you don't make time for exercise, you'll probably have to make time for illness".

Being healthy is not only the absence of disease but it also means being active in one's life. We often forget that being healthy is just not having a physical body but it also means having a healthy mind and having a sense of balance in life.

Go for that morning run, practice yoga, get out in nature, have powerful naps. Do whatever that makes your body and mind strong!

4. SMILE

"Life is short. Smile while you still have teeth". :)

There has been many researches that has shown that there are many health benefits of smiling and laughing. As we grow from child to adult, we often tend to lose the habit of these behaviors. Avoid negative programs and news broadcasts and watch something positive and lighthearted and keep smiling!

5. PARENTS

"Love your parents..we are busy growing up, we often forget they are also growing old".

Life this past few months has been a reminder that as I've been growing up, my own parents are growing old. Honestly with everyday hustle bustle we sometimes lose the sight of this fact. We need to make a priority to spend more quality time with them, listen more stories about their life, and lessons they have learned in their life that might help us in some point in life. I believe parents are the only souls who bless us wholeheartedly.

Appreciate what you have while you still have it, because we all know life can change in an instant.
