4 tips for transitioning to a new job!

“Strive not to be a Success, but rather to be of Value.” — Albert Einstein

So I never intended my new job to be a big secret. I wanted to stay collected till everything was final. I feel truly honored and blessed to meet and be a part of most smartest and dedicated group that I’ve ever met. I’m now a “MathWorker” from an “IBMer” :)

I remember the very first thing that I asked the interviewer was - ‘How’s the organisation culture? And how do you measure the impact MathWorks is creating globally today’... I knew right away that I wanted to be a part of MathWorks on a large scale. Irrespective of the organization one is joining I believe the only fulfilling thing is the service and contribution you are providing to the community as a whole for a greater impact. Nothing more, nothing less. I’m thankful and feel humbled for all my guiding stars who were around me during this transition time and wanted the best for me unconditionally!

I’ll try sharing here what worked for me and the lessons I learnt during this time, in the hopes that it might help you a bit if you are most likely on the same boat:

1. OH THAT “COMFORT ZONE”!

The funny thing is, one would not know that they are in this dogma of “feeling comfort” until they are out of it. It is easy to get into the mindset of ‘why do I need to do anything if I have everything?’. However, Universe has its own course, if you don’t get yourself out from the zone, Nature would push you to do just that.

Faith doesn’t demand evidence but Science does, and what better evidence would it be like today - Universe has taken a big tipsy turn to cleanse and purify nature which humans could have never done that in ages.

2. “CHANGE IS AUTOMATIC, GROWTH IS NOT”

We do not have to “make a change”, it is happening every day with our bodies, age, time etc, whether we like it or not…we do not have to explicitly do anything for these to change anyway, it is Inevitable. However, GROWTH requires Awareness of where we are at the stage in our lives and where we want to go. It requires pure dedication, discipline and persistence to grow in any area of life. Bob proctor said it so beautifully — “Change is inevitable but personal Growth is a choice.”

3. VICIOUS CYCLE

I know what this means as I have been into this cycle for quite some time. How would you get different results if you are doing the same thing over and over again - You would get the same result every single time. Break the pattern to break the cycle!

4. PERSISTENCE

This is the key. Persistence is the only thing that will get you where you want to be. If you are searching for a new job..be persistent, if you want to open a startup.. be persistent, if you are in a relationship.. be persistent in showing love. ‘When a child learns to walk and falls down 50 times, he never thinks to himself “may be this isn’t for me”’, he keeps trying until he can walk and run like a marathoner! 😊

So here I am…Looking forward for the ride ahead! :)

Much love.. 🙏🏻
