Deep Breaths..
“In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you.”
I was sitting still..eyes closed..deep into the mind/body connect and as I started meditating, I felt one of the tears spilled from the corner of my right eye slowly down my cheek. It was not a moment of sadness, nor it was a moment of longing for something. It was just a feeling of pure Bliss and Gratitude in that moment....Gratitude to feel my Breath, Gratitude towards the Heart that beats 24/7 and never even ask anything from us.. Gratitude towards Universe...gratitude towards LIFE and being alive.
I’ve had thoughts around this experience from the time we went into quarantine back in March this year. A large part of this has been my yoga and meditation practice, which continues to improve almost every aspect of my Life. I realize everything in our lives is Inside-Out rather than Outside-In (how we feel inside always reflects how we act or behave outside). And what better time in this chaotic period would be to do the internal work.
Here’s a beautiful poem about gratitude and mindfulness written by the 13th century Persian poet Rumi which I’m in so love with.. ❤️
“This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
Meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.

Meditation is a journey and not a goal to be achieved or a thing ‘to-do’. It leads one to be conscious of the things around and to be more present in the moment that always help us move along the path in the right direction.
